Electrify 2515 is launching its Community Solar Rollout and we’d love you to join our free event!

Our community group aims to create a simple trusted process for households and businesses to install new or expanded solar systems, so we’re excited to launch our rollout for all Illawarra residents (not just 2515!). Learn about how solar is the essential foundation of creating our all-electric community, how we can become smart energy users and how you can get involved.

You will:

• Hear from guest speaker and electrification expert, Dr Saul Griffith

• Learn about our Community Solar Rollout program, which announces our vetted local solar partners and their offer

• Receive an update on the Electrify 2515 pilot funding application and plans

• Get to speak with the solar experts about your own electrification journey

• View finance options to help afford the upfront costs

• Have key questions answered such as ‘is my property too shady?’, ‘are feed-in-tariffs a big deal?’, ‘how do I prepare for the electric future?’

• Look at some of the tech and learn about a quality solar recycling program

FAQs

• Is this for 2515 residents only?

  No! Our Community Solar Rollout will be open for all Illawarra residents

• Will solar be subsidised in the proposed Electrify 2515 pilot project?

  No. Due to existing subsidies available, solar already is a sound economic investment. This is why we’re organising a solar rollout regardless of the pilot status and have negotiated a financial incentive with our solar partners. There are a range of financial packages available to help households afford the upfront capital cost we will talk about too.

• I already have solar, is this event still for me?

  Yes! We will need as much solar as possible in our all electric future! Many of us installed solar a while back & it may be time to expand or update our system. This is also a good chance to learn more about the pilot progress and plans for creating an all electric communityoes here

• I can't afford solar, should I still come?

  Yes! Come and learn about some of the financing options that may be relevant for you to help you afford the system today; or simply learn more about the process to use in future.

• Will I get personalised information?

  The event is part-information and part-opportunity to speak with a range of experts about your personal circumstance. You’re welcome to bring your energy bill along! (Although please note that it may be busy.)
